We chose horses for our program simply by horses that like to do the job. We don't use any specific breed and we try to give horses a second or even third career. Many of our horses have come to us from tough lives looking for a soft landing and some we purchased because their temperment showed promise in the lyst. We use our horses for multiple jobs and do the best we possibly can by them.
Bud aka Bohdrum
Bud is our premier joust horse. He was born in 2002 and came to us via a friend who had rescued him from starvation. He is a purebred Clydesdale but is only 16'2 hands. He is super game and LOVES to joust. He is a very versatile horse that also enjoys showing, fox hunting, and trail riding. In 2018 he was top 5 at the Ohio State 4H Junior Show in Advanced Equitation Over Fences and Advanced Working Hunter. He brought home several titles from the World Clydesdale Show. Top Ten Over Fences, Reserve World Champion Barrel Racer, World Champion Pole Bender.
Nemesis - retired
Nemesis was one of our top joust horses ever. She was always spot on and 100% reliable. She helped many a jouster get their start in this sport. She was born in 1996 and is an Anglo-Arabian mare standing 14'3 hands. Small but mighty she always brought home the top honors. She also spent her time being a very successful show horse in open shows and 4H, she loves to fox hunt and go trail riding. She is spending her retirement with us and still goes for trail rides and still occasionally pulls the carriage.
Maggie - retired
Maggie was our first joust horse. She was born in 1997 and is a percheron cross mare standing only 15 hands. She has all the heart and fire a great war horse. She loved the melee and had no issues bouncing off other horses. She never wanted to be a show horse but did enjoy fox hunting and trail riding. She is spending her retirement with us, though now has limited sight she still gets to go on trail rides with her friends.
